Standbridge Lane Community Centre Development of Old Primary School

Standbridge lane community centre started work on the standbridge lane primary school site over three years ago. Wanting to improve the building to benefit the local community.

Over the last two years, they have secured substantial funding to make some necessary improvements to the centre in order to make the centre safe for the public. The centre will be up and running in March 2014 with more work to be completed over the coming months and will continue to be improved once opened.

Standbridge lane is certainly a unique centre compared to other community centres within the Wakefield district area. Their strengths include the size of the building; being able to offer room hire and a permanent library. They also command a great deal of outdoor space; this will enable them to hold summer fairs, galas and sports activities.

Stanbridge Lane Community Centre Sports

Sport is key in the development of the centre and is for adults and children of all backgrounds such as; boxing and football. Standbridge lane community centre secured funding for a specialised boxing room complete with all the kit required for this activity. They are now hoping to secure funding for further areas such as changing rooms and shower facilities.

Community Centre Washroom Hygiene

As part of the refurbishment, Rentex where contacted to provide washroom hygiene services for the old primary school site in preparation for its opening. This included male and female washroom products as part a full contract maintenance service. Rentex are also a local company and will be supporting SLCDT on the official opening day.
