Cook and Garcia About Them

Cook and Garcia opened as a new retailer in May 2012 on Richmond High Street. After years as a chef in hotels, restaurants and in contract catering. Founder Richard Garcia decided to take the plunge and open his own place, with the support of his wife Janet Cook (now Garcia).

In May 2013, on the anniversary of first opening was named the ‘Best Independent Sandwich Bar in the UK’ by the British Sandwich Association, a prestigious title that they have defended again for the second year running.

Values

They  aim to provide something different to the usual chains, having spotted a niche in what is otherwise often a ‘clone high street’. They use the freshest ingredients that are sourced locally when possible providing a tasty and healthy alternative as well as real value for money.

Expansion 

A second site was also opened for staff within a large office in Richmond. And in 2014 Cook & Garcia also launched an online business menu. Look at www.cookandgarciatogo.co.uk which has been hugely popular with local businesses. The delivery trolley can often be spotted in offices nearby our shops. In 2014 Cook & Garcia was also approached by Oakfield Capital Partners who took a minority stake in the business in exchange for finance for its expansion.

In May 2015 Cook & Garcia opened its next shop. Bringing its delicious food, coffee and fabulous service to the workers and tourists in the area.
